This assignment on critical thinking helped me identify that compassion is the starting point of critical thinking. The nurse must have the ability to be compassionate in work. Having the ability to focus on others, not self , takes great humility and compassion. To love someone else more than yourself and to devote your life to your patients like nurses and other healthcare professions do, demonstrates compassion.

Interdisciplinary partnerships are important in optimizing patient care. Having the involvement with other disciplines strengthens the depth of knowledge brought to the thinking table. This assignment exemplifies the importance of teamwork.

The oporating room is a perfect example of how intentional collaboration across professions works. Optimizing care and the having good patient outcomes is dependent on collaborative care.
